The problem

Local communities lacked a trusted platform for nearby buying and selling, with poor local discovery, weak communication tools, and insufficient trust mechanisms.

Without a trusted local platform, buyers and sellers were falling back on unmoderated, low-trust channels for nearby transactions — every listing lost to scams or no-shows eroded confidence in buying and selling locally online, making it harder for Sympl to build a loyal, repeat-transacting community.

Created a community-driven classifieds platform with location-based listings, advanced search and filtering, real-time chat, and comprehensive user management features.
